Verena Kölsch graduated in psychology with a specialization in neuropsychology at the SRH University of Applied Science Heidelberg in 2019. During her project studies and research internship at the Network Aging Research (NAR) of the University of Heidelberg, she focused on cognitive aspects of aging and backgrounds as well as methodologies of neuropsychological research. In the course of this, her subsequent master thesis, and subsequently as a research assistant, she contributed at the NAR to the dissertation project "Effects of learning a second language on cognition in healthy older adults", which was funded by the Klaus Tschira Foundation and the SRH Clinic Karlsbad-Langensteinbach. From 2020 to 2021, she worked as a research assistant at the Department of Dermatology at the University Hospital Heidelberg, where she strengthened her expertise in health-related issues. Since May 2021, she is a PhD student in the research group of Dr. Heinrich Burkhardt in the Geriatrics Department of the University Medical Centre Mannheim.
