On 4 December 2007 Prof. Dr. med. Jochen Tröger was designated honorary member of the Network Aging Research by the Board of Directors. Professor Tröger is the Clinical Director of the pediatric radiology at the University Clinic of Heidelberg and until fall of 2007 he was a member of the rectorship. He is the "spiritus rector" of the Network Aging Research. As the Federal Government withdrew its financial support for the German Centre of Aging Research (DZFA), he was significantly involved in developing a new concept for Aging Research in Heidelberg. The Network Aging Research is honoring Professor Tröger's merits for keeping and intensifying the Aging Research at the University of Heidelberg, with the first honorary membership.
